AIE SINGING SUPERSTAR MECHANICS

Eligibilities:

1)     Participants must be a bonafide student of AIE College and should be officially enrolled this 2^nd trimester 2011.

2)     Certificate of Registration may be required for validation purposes.

3)     Male or Female.

4)     Open to all ages.

Guidelines:

1)     Participants must prepare a singing piece for the elimination and final round. Singing piece can either be English or Tagalog at any genre, but must not contain any subliminal, sexually suggestive or offensive lyrics. Non-compliance will be grounds for disqualification.

2)     Important: Participants must submit there minus one in audio CD format, plus a back up copy of the minus one on USB to Ms. Jobeth Calicdan on or before December 09, 2011.

3)     CD labels must include the following:

ü  Name of Campus

ü  Name of Participant

ü  Track no. & song title of the singing piece for the elimination and final round

4)     Attire must be appropriate for the competition.

5)     Contestant must be present at least one hour before the competition. Failure to comply might lead to point deduction or default.

6)     No musical instruments such as guitar, etc. should be used.  Only minus one is accepted. This is to audibly hear the vocals of the participant for the judges’ convenience.

Elimination Round Guidelines:

Ø  Schedule: December 09, 2011

Ø  Time: 1:00 PM

Ø  Only five (5) contestants will be chosen to move forward for the final round.

Ø  Announcement of final contestants will be after the elimination round. Contestants must prepare for the final round.

Final Round Guidelines:

Ø  Schedule: December 09, 2011

Ø  Time: 7:00 PM

Ø  Scores in the elimination round will bear no significance for the final round (BACK TO ZERO BASIS).

Ø  Change of singing piece is NOT ALLOWED.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING are as follows:

Stage Performance               -----      20%

NOTE: Same criteria will be applied both for the elimination and final round.

Deadline for submission of entries will be on DECEMBER 2, 2011. Entries should include the following:

• Name of Contestant
• Age
• Course and Year Level
• Title of song with artist

AIE Philippines Film Festival 2011

AIE FILM FESTIVAL

RATIONALE

AIE Philippines Short Film Festival (APSFF) will be an annual short film festival that will be held in AIE College. The festival, which runs from 2^nd week of November to the first week of DECEMBER, focuses on AIE campus-produced films. Further, it is in the full participation of all students being mobilized in this area of occupation as well as their enhancement to this particular skill.

Other Major Awards:

·         Best Director- best in Overall production and supervision of A film  Note: The Winner of Best Picture automatically gets Best Director award.

·         Best Actor- the best performance of an actor in a leading role.

·         Best Actress- the best performance of an actress in a leading role.

·         Best Supporting Actor- the best performance of an actor in a supporting role.

·         Best Supporting Actress- the best performance of an actress in a supporting role.

·         Best Festival Screenplay- best written script version of a play / dramatic composition prepared for motion-picture production.

·         Best Story (original or adapted) - best in firsthand play / dramatic composition for film showing.

·         Best Cinematography-  best in camera shooting expressing artistry or visual clarity, including lightings that contribute to overall image of the film.

·         Best Editing – organized and flawless transition of scenes.  

·         Best Musical Score or Sound Recording- best in overall sound quality and musical application.

·         Best Production Design- best in production settings including location, props, costumes, and makeup, etc.

Guidelines and mechanics

1.     Each campus must have an entry to the said competition. All participants of the play (casts, characters and production staff) must be currently enrolled of AIE College.

2.     The jury is composed of film enthusiasts and critics in the field of drama and theater arts, media and entertainment.

3.     There will be no specific genre or theme required, as long as it bears or express a moral lesson. Extreme violence and nudity strictly not allowed.  

4.     The movie to be played must be digitally done. Video recording using cellular phone camera is acceptable.

5.     The film’s running time must be for a minimum of 15 minutes, and a maximum of 45 minutes.

6.     Trailer of the movie must be included in the submission, it must Not be more than 45 seconds.

7.   Copy of the film and the Trailer must be placed in 2 separate CDs/ or USB and must be submitted to the Head Office ---

      December 6, 2011 (Tuesday,  by 12:00 NOON) - please look for Sir Felix.

8.   Winners of the said competition will be announced during the President’s ball, December 9, 2011 in Baguio City.

Mr and Miss AIE Philippines Selection will be held on December 9 and 10 2011 at the Green Valley Hotel and Country Club in Baguio City in consonance with the 8th Foundation day of Asian Institute of E-Commerce.

Open to bonafide AIE Students from all over the country... with pleasing personality, age 17 to 22 years old, height must be at least 5'2" for women and 5'6" for men...

Campus representative doesn’t necessarily be winners of acquaintance party, as long as requirements are met. School Director and his/her team decides who will be sent by the campus to compete in the national pageant.

Criteria for Mr and Miss AIE Philippines:

40%        -              Campus & Peer Support (People’s Choice)

60%        -              Board of Judges Decision

Beauty of Face and Body - 20%

Formal Wear - 10%

Swim wear (with scarf) - 10%

Creative Costume - 10%

Talent - 5%

Runway walk (Ramp modeling) - 5%

100% Total

Score in the fundraising activity (40%) plus Board of judges decision (60%) will be added to determine the final score for choosing Mr and Miss Philippines AIE.

Note: the decision of the board of judges is final.

Aside from beauty and poise, competing for Popularity and Fund Raising will be one of the highlights of the event. thus Candidates who garnered the most number of support (points from tickets) from their campus, peers and friends will be awarded the Mr & Miss People’s Choice Award. This is a major award for the competition.

Mr and Miss People's Choice is a result of the Fund Raising Endeavor. Part of the proceed from the fund raising endeavor will go to the AIE Scholarship Foundation and event prizes, moreover, portion of the funds raised (40%) will be given to the branch and especially to the respective candidates to support for their expenses for the pageant. Ticket raffles will be drawn during the pageant with exciting prizes at stake.

Out of the said 40% from the ticket proceeds, since this is a branch effort, 10% will go to branch and 30% will go directly to respective candidates.

People's Choice winners has big chances in winning the Crown, because a full 40 percent score will be given to winner of Peoples Choice Award for garnering the highest point in the Fund Raising endeavor. Score in the fundraising activity (40%) plus Board of judges decision (60%) will be added to determine the final score for choosing Mr and Miss Philippines AIE.

The following percentage score will be given to candidates according to their rank in the final canvassing.

Overall Candidate Points Tally can be viewed on this website a day after every canvassing date, except for the final canvassing, wherein final scores will be announced on the pageant night.

Note: Only the Accounting and treasury department will release official records of votes based on actual ticket sales received by the branch. Advance purchase of tickets is allowed in case tickets is not yet available as of canvassing time.

8^TH FOUNDATION DAY

DANCE CRAZE MECHANICS

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   Dance Craze competition is Open to All AIE Students officially enrolled this 2^nd trimester 2011. COR and/or ID might be required for verification purposes.

2.   A participating campus must submit their entry/registration form on or before December 02, 2011 thru email: vez_jennifer@yahoo.com.

MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES:

1.   The dance piece must be that of a  Dance craze (Street Dance or Hiphop).

2.   Dance performance must be a minimum of three (3) minutes and maximum of five (5) minutes. A corresponding deduction of two (2) points is given every five (5) seconds overtime or time shortage. Ten (10) seconds pre-set is given each group. After such, group’s time automatically starts.

3.   Dance troupe must compose of a minimum of five (5) and maximum of ten (10) members.

4.   Groups should wear clothing reflecting the character and style of the performance.

5.   MUSIC

a.    Groups may use a performance piece with a minimum of two (2) songs with no maximum limit.

b.   Groups must submit their final Material on CD (2 copies) 2 days prior to the competition.

c.    Special request regarding playback of music during competition must be indicated on the CD’s submitted (i.e. higher speed playback, pre-set before Play back, etc.).

d.   Changes in Music will not be entertained after the deadline.

e.    No CD’s will be accepted on the day of the competition.

f.     Cassette tapes are not allowed.

g.    Group representative are not allowed in the control booth during performance.

h.   Music submitted on CD will be on digital format to ensure errorless playback during competition. Cd’s will be brought to the competition as BACK-UP.

6.   ATTIRES AND PROPS

a.    This may include accessories such as hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelry and other forms of THEATRICAL dress. However, bead necklace, bracelet, or other accessories made of Beads are PROHOBITED.

b.   Props may be allowed in the performance as long as it doesn’t destroy the stage set up or flooring or those that may harm other group’s performance.

c.    Body oils, body paints, body and hair glitters are prohibited as is any other substance applied to the Body that may affect the clean dry surface of the stage and the safety of fellow competitors.

7.   Chronology of performance will be base from a draw lots on the day of the competition (December 09, 2011). Drawn spots are final and no changes will be entertained.

8.   Elimination Round: The five groups with the highest rank will compete again for the FINAL round. (Back to zero basis).

NOTE: Elimination and Final round will follow same criteria.

The sequence of performance shall be decided through drawing of lots to be done prior to the show proper.

NOTE: All groups must be in the event venue, 1 hour before the start of the competition

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

A.   Content 30%

a.    Variety of dance positions, dance movements, and/or combinations as appropriate to the specific dance.

b.   Difficulty of dance movements and/or combinations from one dance position or alignment to another.

c.    Uniqueness or originality of dance movements and/or combinations from one dance position or alignment to another, to include presentation of dance position.

d.   Continuity of dance movements and/or combinations to either interpret dance theme and music, or to demonstrate dance control. This refers to exceptional phrasing which includes spontaneous adjustments of dance pattern for irregularly phrased musical selections.

B.   Execution 30%

a.    Basic pattern, rhythm, timing, and initial phrasing between partners and to the selected music. For correctly phrased musical selections, phrasing may be shifted for momentary variation, but generally should be maintained throughout the specific dance.

b.   Proper performance of footwork, hand, head, arm, and body movements through dance variations; to include balance and centering through executed movements.

c.    Alignment, framework, and proper presentation of dance positions; to include smoothness of follow–through from movement into position; to demonstrate properly initiated lead and follow technique from position into movement.

C.   Style 30%

a.    Artistic interpretation and choreography projected through dance movement as it relates to the selected music and the specified dance category.

b.   Attentiveness, enthusiasm, enjoyment of the dance, and general good partnership as perceived through appropriate presentation of lead and follow roles.

c.    Flair and accent of dance movement, generating an atmosphere and instilling a mood appropriate to the specific dance category.

D.  Audience Impact 10%

The classy Miss La Union Sue Claire Diane Tangalin is MISS AIE Philippines 2010 while Mr Urdaneta John Earl Agbunag is MR AIE Philippines. Miss AIE 1st Runner Up is Miss Cabanatuan Lady Joy dela Cruz and MR AIE 1st Runner Up is Mr Cabanatuan John Robert dela Serna.
