Eligibilities:
1) Participants
must be a bonafide student of AIE College and should be officially enrolled
this 2nd trimester 2012.
2) Certificate of
Registration may be required for validation purposes on December 7, 2012.
3) 1 Male or
1Female.
4) Open to all
ages.
Guidelines:
1) Participants
must prepare a singing piece for the elimination and final round. Singing piece
can either be English or Tagalog at any genre, but must not contain any
subliminal, sexually suggestive or offensive lyrics. Non-compliance will be
grounds for disqualification.
2) Participants
must submit their minus one in audio CD format, plus a back up copy of the
minus one on USB to sir Symond on or before December 7, 2012, 11:00 am to 12:30
NN.
3) CD labels must
include the following:
Name of Campus
Name of Participant
Track no. & song title of the singing piece for the
elimination and final round
4) Attire must be
appropriate for the competition.
5) Contestant must
be present at least 30minutes before the competition.
6) No musical
instruments such as guitar, etc. should be used. Only minus one is accepted. This is to
audibly hear the vocals of the participant for the judges’ convenience.
7. Elimination Round will start at 1pm and Final Round will
start at 7pm. Contestant must be in the contest venue not later than the said
time 1:00 pm and 7pm, failure to comply will be declared default.
8. Judges decision is final and executory
9. Chronology of performance will be base from a draw lots
on the day of the competition (December 07, 2012, 11:00-12:30). Drawn spots are
final and no changes will be entertained
Elimination Round Guidelines:
Schedule: December 7, 2012
Time: 1:00 PM
Only three(3) contestants will be chosen to move forward for the final
round.
Announcement of final contestants will be after the elimination round.
Contestants must prepare for the final round.
Final Round Guidelines:
Schedule: December 08, 2012
Time: 7:00 PM
Scores in the elimination round will bear no significance for the
final round (BACK TO ZERO BASIS).
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING are as follows:
Voice quality & style ----- 30%
Interpretation & timing ----- 40%
Stage Performance ----- 25%
Audience impact ----- 5%
TOTAL : 100%
NOTE: Same criteria will be applied both for the elimination
and final round.

For this year, not only the 13 pairs of candidates vying for Mr and Miss AIE Philippines 2013 will be part of the production number but also the 3 finalists for Singing Superstar and 3 group-finalists of Dance Craze. This means that contestants for the Singing Superstar and Dance Craze need not only practice their contest piece/performance, but also rehearse part of song(s) or dance(s) specified below. We will be using this production setup to eliminate hiring 3rd-party talents while at the same time showcase the best talents AIE campuses have.
ReplyDeleteThe Opening Production number is divided into 4 major parts:
Part 1 : Singing Superstar Showdown (5 minutes and 15 seconds). The Singing Superstar Showdown will be started with the song Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga. The 1st stanza and 1st chorus will be sung by Dr. Barmie M. Caluza, who will then introduce the three finalists for AIE Singing Superstar. The first Singing Superstar finalist will continue the 2nd stanza and 2nd chorus of the Edge of Glory. The 2nd finalist will sing 1 stanza and 1 chorus of Where Have You Been by Rihanna. To end the first part of the production number, the 3rd Singing Superstar finalist will sing 1 stanza and 1 chorus of Dance Again by Jennifer Lopez.
Minus 1 of the actual medley songs is attached in the email of this communications and is also available for download at the official FB Page of Mr and Miss AIE Philippines at www.facebook.com/aiePageant (look for the Opening Production Number post in the timeline). Likewise, a Plus 1 of the actual medley of songs is also attached in the email of this communications for practicing purposes.
In case a male contestant will be part of the finalists, the rest of the songs will remain except to the part where the male finalist will be given a song based on his vocal range and/or preference. Selection of song and re-scoring of medley music will happen right after elimination.
Part 4 : Finale : Edge of Glory – Reprise (35 seconds). All Singing Superstar Finalists, together with Dr. Barmie Caluza, will sing the last chorus of Edge of Glory while all pageant candidates do simple dance steps such as waving hands up and down. Dance Craze group finalists do their own freestyle dance performances down the stage.
Rehearsal of opening production number of finalists for Dance Craze and Singing Superstar shall happen right after the elimination and during the Final Blocking Rehearsal on December 7, 2012 3:00 PM on stage of pageant venue.
